The beginning of hernia symptoms are swelling under the skin which will cause you a slight discomfort and slight pain and if not treated, the hernia will then grow bigger and will cause more pain and all this pain are related to lifting, coughing or sneezing. This cause of our surrounding tissues to weaken and this may result be due to heavy smoking or obesity. This disease or hiatal hernia sickness are especially common to people who is over the age of fifty and its usually cause the back flow of gastric acid into the esophagus.

Hiatal hernias by itself rarely causes symptoms and the common symptoms are pain and discomfort which are usually due to the reflux of gastric acid. Others types of symptoms are belching, chest pain which are due to the stomach protrudes to the chest, finding difficulty in swallowing and heartburn when bending down or lying down. To avoid pain is to reducing the back flow of stomach contents into the esophagus which can be avoid by not taking heavy or very large meals.
